Zamek w Rogowie Opolskim

     Zamek w Rogowie Opolskim to historyczny pałac z XVI wieku, zbudowany przez rodzinę Rogoyskich. Najstarsze części zamku to renesansowe skrzydła mieszkalne z basztą narożną. W XVIII wieku zamek został zakupiony przez hrabiego Henryka Adolfa von Roederna, a później przekształcony przez hrabiego Karola Wilhelma von Haugwitza w dworek szlachecki.

 

     W XIX wieku zamek został rozbudowany przez Christiana Heinricha Kurta von Haugwitza, premiera Prus, który dodał zachodnie skrzydło w stylu klasycystycznym oraz założył park krajobrazowy w stylu angielskim. W okresie II wojny światowej zamek służył jako obóz szkoleniowy dla Hitlerjugend. Po wojnie zamek został nacjonalizowany i wykorzystywany jako przedszkole, a później magazyn zboża.

 

     W 1964 roku zrujnowany zamek został przekazany Wojewódzkiej Bibliotece Publicznej w Opolu, gdzie po odbudowie otworzono filię z cennymi zbiorami specjalnymi. W 2010 roku odnaleziono groby rodziny von Haugwitz, a w 2011 roku dokonano ponownego pochówku w przypałacowej kaplicy. Zamek wraz z parkiem, kaplicą grobową i innymi budynkami stanowi zabytkowy zespół architektoniczny.
